Terry G breaks silence on stealing ‘Pass Me Your Love’ song from Ay.Com

Nigerian singer and music producer, Terry G, has addressed long-standing allegations that he hijacked the hit song Pass Me Your Love from fellow artist and collaborator, AY.Com.

The controversy, which dates back several years, centres on Terry G’s repeated performances of the 2009 hit track, which originally belonged to AY.Com but featured Terry G at shows and public events.

Critics accused the eccentric singer of overshadowing AY.Com and taking undue ownership of the song.

Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Terry G dismissed the accusations as “pure ignorance,” stating that he had every right to perform the track as a featured artist.

“To those saying I stole Pass Me Your Love from AY.Com, that’s pure ignorance. So I don’t have the right to perform a song I collaborated on? Your favourite artists do it all the time, but when it’s me, it becomes a problem. Hypocrisy at its finest,” he wrote.

Terry G clarified that he never included the song in any of his albums and maintained that the issue was always about collaboration, not ownership.

“Some of you ruined AY’s moment with your noise, not me. As for my shine, nobody can block it. You no reach,” he added.

In a bold twist, Terry G claimed that the controversy itself, rather than any action on his part, was partly responsible for the decline in AY.Com’s music career.
