Tanzanian singer Juma Jux is opening up about one of the most personal aspects of his relationship with Nigerian influencer and fashion entrepreneur, Priscilla Ojo. He got candid about his wife’s conversion to Islam before they tied the knot.
In an interview with Tanzanian media personality Millard Ayo, Juma Jux revealed that convincing Priscilla Ojo, the daughter of famous Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo, to embrace his faith wasn’t an overnight success.
According to the singer, the process was emotionally delicate and spiritually guided. He admitted:
“Yes, a little bit difficult convincing her.”
“On the other hand, I was receiving lessons from religious leaders and people who are keen about the religion. So there’s a way that they were teaching me with regard to how to convince her. ‘Go with her slowly, teach her this and that, tell her this and that.’ So I took some time. She later on understood.”
Juma Jux shared that the decision was deeply spiritual for him, even before they officially became husband and wife. He said:
“I knew everything when it came to my wedding. I had a dream about it. I was so lucky to find someone who wants the same thing as I.”
Their relationship, which went public in late 2024 after months of online speculation, has captivated fans across Nigeria and Tanzania.
The couple sealed their union with a glamorous white wedding in Lagos on April 19, followed by a traditional ceremony in Tanzania. The celebration highlighted not just their love, but the merging of two cultures and now, two faith journeys.
