Nearly two year after the shocking death of Nigerian singer Mohbad, fresh revelations continue to surface, this time from his own blood.
In a raw and emotional interview with Object TV, Adura, Mohbad’s younger brother, opened up about the days leading to the singer’s passing on September 12, 2023. From a performance gone wrong to frantic hospital runs and finally, a controversial midnight burial, Adura gave his side of the story.
According to Adura, trouble began after a show Mohbad performed in Ikorodu on September 10. He explained that after the show, the team had planned to wait for Zlatan so they could all leave together.
Mohbad was in one Prado SUV with his wife Wunmi, Primeboy, Spending, and two others. Adura was in the second car when Primeboy came to speak to him, allegedly under the influence. In his words:
“The way Primeboy was talking, he was high. I told him to leave me alone. He got angry and went to report me to MOH.”
Moments later, a fight reportedly broke out between Mohbad and Primeboy. According to Adura, when he and Darosha returned from withdrawing money to settle some area boys who had approached Mohbad, they were told Primeboy had punched the singer. He narrated:
“I asked MOH what happened and he said Prime punched him. Wunmi, however, said Prime wasn’t at fault, so I was confused. I went to confront Primeboy for injuring MOH. I was told that MOH wanted to punch Prime Boy, that was when he hit the Prado Glass.”
He also mentioned that Mohbad’s hand was bleeding but seemed stable that night. The family returned home, and Mohbad reportedly joined them downstairs, discussing what had happened. Everything seemed under control until the next day.
By the morning of September 11, Mohbad started complaining about his hand again. According to Adura, the injury hadn’t healed and he requested a nurse.

The singer’s personal nurse was unavailable, so another nurse was contacted through Spending. She agreed to come on Tuesday, the same day they were preparing for Liam’s 5-month birthday. He continued:
“Mohbad was in Wunmi’s room upstairs. We moved him to his own room so the nurse could treat him. There was water on the floor from the rain. I cleaned it and went back downstairs. Ten to fifteen minutes later, I heard them calling my name.”
That was when everything started to go downhill. When Adura got upstairs, Mohbad was already struggling to breathe and could barely speak. He shared:
“The nurse said she had injected him. MOH couldn’t talk anymore but pointed at water, so I washed his face. He also pointed at the AC. We took him back to the other room to cool off.”
While the mechanic was fixing Mohbad’s car outside, Adura said he ran out in search of a vehicle to rush Mohbad to the hospital. But by the time he got back, the singer had already been brought outside.
Due to traffic, they had to transfer Mohbad to a bike midway through the journey. He revealed:
“He was gasping for breath. We got to the hospital. After 15 minutes, the doctor said he had passed. We took him to another hospital. They didn’t even let us in, just said he was brought in dead.”
When they returned home, according to Adura, they laid Mohbad’s body in the living room while trying to figure out what to do next. That’s when another controversial moment unfolded. He continued:
“Darosha said when his dad died, they put salt on his chest to preserve him. We did the same for MOH. That’s the salt Daddy saw and assumed we embalmed him.”
Adura added that their father, Joseph Aloba, who arrived shortly after, reportedly insisted that his son be buried that same night, despite protests from the family. They eventually took the body to Ikorodu and buried him the next day. Adura concluded:
“Daddy then said we must bury him that night and we were like nooo why…but he insisted. We took the body to Ikorodu that night and we buried him the next day.”
