I was offered $100k to fight 50 Cent – VDM blasts Soso Soberekon over N120m boxing proposal with Portable

Celebrity Gig

Online activist and controversial social commentator, VeryDarkMan, has fired back at music executive Soso Soberekon over a proposed celebrity boxing match between him and street-hop singer Portable.

Soso had earlier taken to Instagram to announce a whopping ₦120 million prize for a potential face-off between the two online warriors.

The promoter broke down the cash reward as ₦100 million for the winner and ₦20 million for the loser, hyping it up as a chance to settle their growing online beef once and for all.

But VeryDarkMan wasn’t having it.

In a fiery Instagram video, the activist called Soso’s proposal “pure disrespect.” He revealed that he had previously turned down a $100,000 offer to fight American rapper 50 Cent, insisting he knew his worth and wouldn’t step into the ring for less than $1 million. In his words:

“Last year I was supposed to fight 50 Cent. Yes, you heard me right. They wanted to give me 100,000 dollars while offering 50 Cent $5 million. I told them if 50 Cent is getting that, I deserve $1 million. And it didn’t work out.”

Turning his attention to the Soso-Portable fight offer, he scoffed at the ₦120 million price tag, stressing that:

“₦100 million cannot even buy a good house in Abuja.”

“Soso, you’re very disrespectful. Forget age. Don’t call my name again unless you’re ready to drop $500,000 upfront.

Then I can sit together with you to discuss the balance, but I doubt if you get that kind of money. If dem dey respect you, respect yourself Soso. If you don’t have that money I talk please don’t put my name on your page again.”

This isn’t Soso’s first rodeo in celebrity fight promotions. Back in April, he pledged ₦20 million for a rematch between Portable and rapper Speed Darlington.
