Controversial social media activist, Martin’s Vincent Otse aka VeryDarkMan (VDM), has issued a detailed response following a formal petition filed by Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo against him and CP Uche Ifeanyi Henry, the Director of the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC).
Iyabo Ojo had earlier accused CP Uche of showing bias by allowing VeryDarkMan into an interrogation room where Rapper Naira Marley, Socialite Sam Larry and herself were being questioned in connection to defamation allegations.
She also alleged that VeryDarkMan received preferential treatment during the visit, including being offered refreshments , and called for the CP Uche to be removed from the case entirely.
In a rebuttal posted via social media, VeryDarkMan dismissed the claims as false and misleading. He clarified that the meeting did not take place in an interrogation room but rather in a general conference space where multiple individuals were present. According to him, the refreshments mentioned were made available to everyone in the room and were not exclusive to him.
He challenged Iyabo Ojo to provide concrete evidence to support her claims of preferential treatment, reiterated that the NPF-NCCC facility is fully equipped with surveillance cameras and audio recording systems, which could be used to verify the truth of the events that occurred.
Addressing the allegation of close ties with CP Uche, VeryDarkMan stated that his first encounter with the senior officer was during a defamation case instigated by Actress Tonto Dikeh, Music producer Samklef, and Iyabo Ojo’s lawyer — a case that led to his arrest and detention. Since then, VDM claims their relationship has remained strictly professional, focused solely on cybercrime advocacy and awareness.
On Iyabo Ojo’s petition to have CP Uche removed from Naira Marley’s defamation case, VeryDarkMan averred that the move is part of a calculated strategy to deflect attention and discredit the officer who had innocently sought an out-of-court resolution between Ojo and the Marlian camp.
He also expressed surprise that Iyabo Ojo backed out of an alleged mutual agreement to publicly release an apology video aimed at clearing Naira Marley’s name after she acknowledged falsely accusing him.
According to VDM, the agreement was for Ojo to apologize first, followed by his own video to calm any backlash, after which all parties involved in the hours leading to Mohbad’s death would be summoned for questioning.
VeryDarkMan concluded by expressing disappointment over Ojo’s actions, which he described as a betrayal of their prior understanding.
