Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has once again got social media buzzing. This was triggered by a surprisingly wholesome moment with gospel singer Lanre Teriba.
In a viral video shared on his Instagram page, the Zazu crooner was seen hosting Lanre Teriba and his live band at his Odogwu Bar in Ogun State. As the gospel star performed, Portable showered him with cash, making money rain in appreciation of the music.
While the gesture was generous, many fans in the comment section couldn’t resist poking fun at Portable’s unpredictable nature, joking that he might later accuse Lanre Teriba of “ripping” him.
See some video clips and reactions to it below:
@iam_djgeorge: “Na Portable dey entertain his customers by himself.”
@waysedollar_: “Na only Portable dey spray wahala.”
@official_haji_jones: “In two weeks now, u go abuse Lanre Teriba, say he no sabi sing again. Let’s watch out.”
@investorfat_: “Na only you be the celeb wey dey there.”
Despite his frequent controversies, Portable has become a household name and a prominent figure in the Nigerian entertainment scene. Over the years, he has rubbed shoulders with some of the biggest names in music, politics, and culture — from Davido, Tiwa Savage, and Phyno, to Skepta, Peter Obi, MC Oluomo, and even the Ooni of Ife.
This latest moment shows another side to the singer, blending his signature unpredictability with a genuine appreciation for music and fellow performers.
In other news, Nollywood actor and popular content creator, Adeyemi Elesho, better known as Yemi Elesho, has shared an emotional and humorous recount of his childhood. The skit maker revealed that he didn’t know veteran Yoruba comic actor Adewale Elesho aka Baba Elesho was his father until he was about 10 years old.
Speaking in an interview with actress Biola Bayo on the Talk To B show, Yemi said the revelation came unexpectedly while watching a movie with his mother.
The comedian recalled a bold move he made as a young boy, running away from home when his mother wasn’t around. Before leaving, he wrote her a letter telling her not to look for him because he was going to Lagos to find his father.
