Nigerian rapper Oladipo Emmanuel, popularly known as Chinko Ekun, has tied the knot with his longtime partner Ayemidun in a heartwarming wedding celebration that lit up Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The festivities were held at the Manhattan Hall in Eleyele, beginning with a colourful traditional engagement. Chinko Ekun made a striking appearance in a regal black-and-gold agbada, embodying cultural elegance, while Ayemidun matched the vibe in a dazzling traditional attire.
The couple later switched to a white wedding ceremony, with Chinko looking effortlessly stylish in a cream-coloured blazer, and his bride stealing the spotlight in a graceful white gown.
The reception was a lively blend of love, laughter, and music, as the newlyweds hit the dance floor to the delight of cheering guests, their chemistry evident in every step. The bride stunned in a beautiful pink gown and gold stone-rimmed glasses.
In a brief speech, Chinko Ekun shared his joy:
“Today is the happiest day of my life because I married the love of my life. And God took all the glory.”
Chinko Ekun’s journey to this happy moment has been anything but smooth. The rapper kicked off his career in 2011, building a fanbase through freestyle videos on social media. His big break came in 2013 with the release of his debut single Ekun, leading to a feature on Olamide’s Street OT album (2014) and a standout performance at Olamide Live in Concert (OLIC) that same year.
Despite enjoying massive success with his 2018 hit Able God, Chinko revealed in 2022 that he endured a period of homelessness after parting ways with his former record label. His resilience and faith carried him through those hard times, making this wedding not just a personal milestone, but a powerful reminder of how far he’s come.
