The mother of late skit maker and fast-rising comedian, Sanku Comedy, has dismissed speculations linking her son’s death to money rituals.

Sanku, whose real name was Raji Samad Adetola, died on Monday following a fatal car accident along the Oyo-Ogbomoso expressway in Ibadan. His untimely passing sparked widespread rumours on social media, with some alleging that his success was tied to ritual practices.

In a now-viral video, the grieving mother strongly refuted the claims, insisting that her son lived a devout Muslim life and never engaged in fetish activities.

“Many Alfas gave him soaps to use, but he always told me to just keep praying for him. He said my prayers were enough. My son never went to any herbalist. He was always praying to God,” she said tearfully.

She recalled that before his death, Sanku asked her to move in with him so she could rest from her work, promising that she would enjoy the fruits of her labour.

“Sanku was a good child. He used to help me hawk peppers before he begged me to let him face comedy fully. He told me not to worry about anything and that he and his siblings would become great people. My son did not do money rituals,” she added.
