The World Circular Economy Forum has announced Nigeria as a host of the next edition of the African Circular Economy Alliance’s in-person African Studios.
The WCEF in a statement stated that as part of the Forum’s programme, ACEN would be organising five in-person African Studios, including Lagos.
WCEF is a global initiative of Finland and the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra, which brings together various business leaders, policymakers, and experts from around the world to present the world’s best circular economy solutions.
The body noted that this year’s forum is scheduled to hold from December 6-8 in Kigali, Rwanda, and would be co-hosted by the African Circular Economy Network, the African Circular Economy Alliance, and the Rwandan Government.
According to the statement, the event had been hosted WCEF has been hosted in Asia, Finland and the Netherlands, and Canada since its launch in 2017.
It said, “Nigeria is one of the founding members of ACEA and has a strong network of circular economy experts who will be facilitating the event between 6 and 8 December.
“The Nigeria Studio grants local communities the opportunity to be heard, thanks to the presence of relevant local and national stakeholders and businesses to showcase their circular projects, products, and services to a global and local audience.”
It added that the event aims to increase knowledge and awareness of local communities around circular economy and inspires local businesses to implement context-specific circular solutions.
