Media mogul, Mosunmola Abudu popularly known as Mo Abudu has been appointed as a member of the Oscars Voting Committee.
Mo Abudu excitedly announced the happy news on her Instagram page on Saturday, December 31 and expressed her delight at being invited as a voting member of the 95th Academy Awards. She wrote:
“Good morning beautiful people. It’s such an honour to have been invited by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, popularly known as the OSCARS to vote in THE INTERNATIONAL FEATURE FILM and SHORT FILM LIVE ACTION categories of the 95th Academy Awards.
“I am really excited about being part of the process and joining the voting Committee this year.”
Recall Forbes named Mo Abudu the 99th most powerful woman in the world in 2022.
The financial journal ranked Abudu, the creator of EbonyLife Group, among the top 100 most important and powerful women in the world.
She was honoured for her remarkable contributions to the media and entertainment industries.
Some of the reasons she made the list were her partnerships with Sony Pictures Television, AMC Networks, and Netflix.
The partnership with Netflix was the first time an African media organization struck a multi-title film and television deal with the streaming giant.
