Jada Pinkett claimed that the reason the deceased hip-hop artist proposed to her was due to his challenges at the time.

Pinkett clarified that she declined his offer because she didn’t have to be his wife in order to assist him.

Despite referring to the late rapper as her “soulmate,” the actress insisted that they couldn’t marry because they were not compatible and didn’t have any love chemistry.

Jada Pinkett said:

2Pac proposed to me while he was in jail. I talk about this in my book when I go to see him in Rikers. When I wrote about that in the book and when I had to speak my words for the audio version of the book. That was probably one of the most painful parts.

“Seeing him there, the condition that he was in, and having to leave him there. He was in bad shape. And so, when he asked me to marry him, he was at Rikers. And I knew at that time that he needed somebody to spend time with him. Which I was going to do anyway. He doesn’t have to marry me to do time with me.”

She also stated that if they had married, they would have divorced in no time.
