Omowunmi Aloba, the wife of the late singer Mohbad, made an appearance at the Ikeja Magistrate Court today, where she faced questions related to her husband’s tragic passing. During the court proceedings, her alleged statement came to light.
Ever since Mohbad’s unfortunate demise, tensions have brewed between Wunmi and the music star’s father, Mr. Aloba.The source of their strife revolves around the singer’s assets, all of which are currently in her possession.
In a gathering that included the singer’s wife, father, and other family members, they attended the Coroner Inquest today. Notably, Gistlover, a popular gossip source, divulged the details of the statement she provided, shedding light on her enduring conflict with her father-in-law.
As reported by Gistlover, Wunmi shared how she and Baba Mohbad were once very close, to the extent that Mohbad’s father had even prayed for her to conceive their son, Liam. In fact, the blog mentioned that their bond was so strong that Mohbad’s dad used to bring his girlfriend to their rented apartment in Lekki, and Wunmi didn’t object because, in her view, it was her son’s house.
However, the turning point in their relationship came when Wunmi gave birth to Liam, and she revealed that the source of their conflict was Liam’s placenta. Wunmi and Mohbad decided not to hand over Liam’s placenta to the singer’s dad, leading to heated arguments and subsequent ongoing issues.
According to Wunmi, the decision not to hand over the placenta to Mohbad’s dad was originally made by Mohbad himself, and she simply backed his choice. She also refuted the allegation made by Baba Mohbad of a blood-soaked bucket in Mohbad’s room, asserting that it was a falsehood. She stated that Mohbad’s brother, who lived with them, could confirm that the “blood” was actually from a minor cut and only water was involved.
In her purported statement, Wunmi shared details about how Mohbad secured the Ikorodu show and how he sustained an injury in a scuffle with Prime Boy. She revealed that she has been receiving threats since her husband’s passing and has been unjustly attacked on social media for things she didn’t do.
Wunmi mentioned that Mohbad’s Canadian visa was approved just a day before his tragic demise. Faced with threats, she had to leave her husband’s home after his death.

She said Liam’s placenta was what caused their indifference, Wunmi and Moh refused to hand over Liam placenta to Daddy Mohbad which caused alot of argument and ever since then it’s was from one issue to another, according to her, it was originally Mohbads decision not to hand over the placenta to the dad, she as the wife just supported the opinion, she also made mention of the allegation from baba Mohbad of seeing blood soaked bucket in Mohbads room, she said all of that was a lie and Mohbad brother who stays with them can testify to it that the cut was just a little cut and what was soaked up was water
She narrated how Mohbad got the ikorodu show, how Mohbad sustained injury after fighting with prime boy ,how she has been receiving threat since her husband passed on, how people defaming her on social media over what she didn’t do, how Mohbad Canada visa was approved a day before he died , how she had to run out of her husband house after his death because of threat, the next coroner inquest hearing has been moved to Nov 15.”
