Renowned Hollywood actor Jamie Foxx has recently been accused of sexually assaulting a woman after she approached him to request a photograph.

In a fresh complaint that was submitted to a New York court on Wednesday, actor Jamie Foxx was charged with sexually assaulting a woman at a bar.

According to the state’s particular law, adults who allege they were sexually abused have the right to bring a civil complaint and pursue damages regardless of the statute of limitations.

Although the complaint was received on Wednesday, the suit is dated Monday according to the New York State Courts e-filing system.

The lady, known in the lawsuit as Jane Doe, said that the incident happened on August 26, 2015, while she and her friend were at Catch NYC & Roof, a rooftop club in Manhattan.

According to the claim, Foxx said, “Sure baby, anything for you,” in response to her request for a picture. The lawsuit claims that he then continued to grope her until her buddy came seeking for her.

According to the lawsuit, the woman claimed that Foxx’s conduct caused her to experience severe mental distress and that she was “rendered sick, sore, lame, and disabled,” necessitating the need for her to seek medical attention.

Foxx was dating Katie Holmes at the time the woman claims the event happened, but reports from several sources stated the two had split up in 2019.

According to his daughter, Foxx had a “medical complication” this year that required hospitalization when he was filming “Back in Action” in April.

Foxx’s relatives and friends have since made references to his hospital stay, but they have all kept a very low profile regarding the specifics. Foxx claimed in July that his emergency had sent him “hell and back,” but he did not elaborate on what had transpired.

A request for comment from Business Insider was not immediately answered by representatives of Foxx, Catch, or the lawyer for the lady who submitted the complaint.
