Okocha’s daughter, Daniella blows hot as netizen accuse her dad of slotting Iwobi into national team

  • A netizen subsequently took to Daniella’s social media page to convey a pointed message to her father, telling him to stop preserving a spot for Iwobi in the national team.

Enraged Nigerians stormed the social media handle of Daniella Okocha, the daughter of the renowned Super Eagles icon, Jay Jay Okocha.

The backlash followed the Super Eagles’ defeat to Ivory Coast in the AFCON final. Many Nigerians expressed disappointment that the team delivered their weakest performance during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final, resulting in a 2-1 loss to the host country, Ivory Coast.

Among the players, midfielder Alexander Chuka Iwobi, who is the nephew of Jay Jay Okocha, faced the brunt of criticism, with numerous online callouts regarding his performance throughout the tournament.

Some Nigerians chose to voice their grievances directly on Okocha’s daughter’s Instagram page.

One comment that particularly caught her attention stated that the former Super Eagles player consistently lobbied for his nephew Iwobi’s inclusion in the national team.

Reacting to this, she sternly warned Nigerians against using her page to vent their frustrations.
