In a bold proclamation of his musical prowess, Nigerian artist David Adeleke, famously recognized as Davido, has asserted his unparalleled dominance as the quintessential powerhouse within the worldwide Afrobeats scene.

In an electrifying tête-à-tête with Billboard’s esteemed Nadine Graham, the enigmatic DMW maestro didn’t just respond to the interviewer’s declaration dubbing him the paramount figure of Afrobeats in the United States; he fervently proclaimed his supremacy, boldly asserted his leadership not only across the American landscape but asserted his global dominance, declared himself the unparalleled leader “everywhere.”

Asserting his position as a leading figure in Afrobeats on a global scale, Davido expressed his hope for people to anticipate “nothing but good music,” noting that even individuals in prison have listened to his songs.

Davido revealed that he is currently creating two albums, clarifying that one is intended for the African audience while the other is targeted towards the American audience.

The singer also shared that his favourite collaboration is ‘2 AM’ with Casanova and Tory Lanez because the track effectively brought together Canadian, Nigerian, and American cultures.

This comes days after his colleague Wizkid joined Burna Boy to clarify that he is not an Afrobeats artiste.

The ‘Essence’ star said this on his Instagram story on Saturday in which he announced that his next album is ready and warned fans not to expect an Afrobeats version of him on the project.

He urged fans of Afrobeats not to download his new album.

Recall that in a July 2022 interview on the Million Dollar Worth of Game podcast Burna Boy stated that his genre of music is called Afrofusion and not Afrobeats as assumed by many.

According to Burna Boy, because his music genre originated in Africa does not make it Afrobeats.
