  • Former BBNaija housemate, Mercy Eke has disclosed she has over N100 million in Heritage Bank after the CBN revoked its license.
  • According to her, she opened the account because Heritage Bank sponsored the Big Brother Naija season she partook in and that was the only medium to collect the prize money.

BBNaija winner, Mercy Eke has cried out, revealing she has over N100 million in her account with Heritage Bank a few days after CBN revoked the bank’s license.

Eke explained that she opened the account because Heritage Bank sponsored the fourth edition of the Big Brother Naija reality show, which she won.

She also accused her account manager of convincing her to fix her money in the bank despite knowing its financial issues.

On her X handle, Eke expressed her distress, writing:

“I really don’t know how to react about this … I have been hoping for the best .. thinking there’s a way out…. #HeritageBank.”

When a fan inquired if she had an account with Heritage Bank, Eke confirmed:

“I do… and have above 100m with them.” Another fan questioned her decision to open an account with the bank.

Eke replied, “That was the bank that sponsored BBN during my set. For them to pay our money, we were advised to open an account with them… stupid me went ahead and funded the account … don’t worry I’m full of regrets right now.”

A concerned fan asked about her account manager’s response. Eke replied, “She lured me into fixing my money, knowing fully well there’s been issues with the bank… I don’t have words for her, I blame myself.

Eke disclosed that she has submitted a notice to the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) in an effort to retrieve her money. The NDIC has begun the liquidation process of Heritage Bank, starting with verification and payment of depositors, prioritizing those with N5 million and below.
