The grand celebration, hosted at the church’s headquarters in Ota, Ogun State, had tongues wagging after reports surfaced that the Bishop was handed two Rolls Royces and a mind-boggling N1 billion cash gift from church members.

While the extravagance might have dazzled some, it left many Nigerians outraged, igniting a fierce backlash that swept through social media and public discourse.

Amidst this heated uproar, Pastor Adeboye, while addressing his congregation in new video, weighed in with a statement that sent shockwaves through the debate, challenging the status quo with unapologetic clarity.

He declared, without hesitation, that it’s better to die rich than poor.

Pastor Adeboye said:

“Someone gave a bishop a car and some people got very upset that how can a bishop be driving a Rolls Royce? As if once you are a bishop you must die of hunger.

“Let me tell you my beloved children, if you die poor they will blame you; they will say after all these days of you serving God this is how you end? If you can’t pay your rent, they will say where is your God?
