  • In a recent statement, Diddy’s mother  referred to his turbulent relationship with his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, which she alleged was riddled with abuse.
  • She defended her son, stating that he might have made mistakes in the past, but isn’t not the monster everyone thinks he is.

In the wake of American rapper Diddy’s recent arrest on charges related to sex trafficking and racketeering, his mother, Janice Combs, has publicly addressed the situation.

Through a statement from her attorney, Natalie G. Figger, she expressed her stance on the allegations leveled against her son.

Diddy’s mother highlighted that while her son has made mistakes in the past, he should not be labeled as a “monster.”

She expressed the kind of pain she feels to witness her son being judged based on a narrative built on falsehoods rather than the reality of the situation.

She acknowledged that there have been instances where Diddy may not have fully disclosed the truth, mentioning a specific denial regarding a past incident with an ex-girlfriend, which was contradicted by hotel surveillance footage.

Ms. Combs hypothesized that Diddy’s legal team chose to settle a lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend rather than pursue a lengthy legal battle.

She believes this decision inadvertently allowed the federal government to interpret it as an acknowledgment of guilt.

She said:

“He made mistakes in the past; as we all have, he is not the monster they have painted him to be.

“It is heartbreaking to see my son judged not for the truth, but for a narrative created out of lies. My son may not have been entirely truthful about certain things, such as denying he has ever gotten violent with an ex-girlfriend when the hotel’s surveillance showed otherwise.

“Sometimes, the truth and a lie become so closely intertwined that it becomes terrifying to admit one part of the story, especially when that truth is outside the norm or is too complicated to be believed.

“This is why I believe my son’s civil legal team opted to settle the ex-girlfriend’s lawsuit instead of contesting it until the end, resulting in a ricochet effect as the federal government used this decision against my son by interpreting it as an admission of guilt.

“It is truly agonizing to watch the world turn against my son so quickly and easily over lies and misconceptions, without ever hearing his side or affording him the opportunity to present his side,” she said, adding that she believed some of his accusers were motivated by money”.
