- Dr Sid has opened up on relocating to the United States.
- On a recent podcast, the singer stated that he has been in Texas for almost two years.
- Dr Sid also revealed he has family and close friends abroad which made the decision quite easy for him when he got a job offer.
Nigerian singer, Sydney Esiri, better known as Dr Sid, has confirmed he has relocated to the United States of America.
Appearing on a recent episode of the âNo Manâs Friendâ podcast on YouTube, the âOver The Moonâ hitmaker disclosed that he left Nigeria after he got a job in the U.S. In Dr Sidâs words:
âI now live in the U.S. I left Nigeria last year after I got a job with a company in New York that offered me an opportunity to move to the States and live anywhere in the U.S.
âIâve family in Houston, my best friend lives here so Houston, Texas was an easy choice. And that is it. Iâve been working here for the last one year and a half.â
Dr Sid gained prominence in 2002 when he was made a member of Da Trybe, and given a spot on the Hip-hop hit, âOyaâ alongside Sasha, 2-Shotz, Timi, DEL, and the Trybesmen (Eldee, Kb and Freestyle).
A year later, he released his debut solo single âDonât Stop.â Thereafter, he took a break from music to complete his university degree and became a qualified dentist.
He then relocated to the UK to work with the likes of JJC & the 419 squad, Felix Duke, KAS, R70, Dâprince, DâBanj.
In 2005, Dr Sid started recording a studio album titled âPrognosisâ which featured the single âRaise Da roofâ, but later abandoned the album.
In 2007, Dr Sid quit practicing as a dentist after three years and decided to concentrate fully on his music career signing on to Don Jazzyâs Moâ Hits Records. His debut solo studio album, âTurning Pointâ was released in April 2010, with the standout tracks âOver The Moonâ and âPop Somethingâ.
Following a fall out of the partners at Moâ Hits Records, Dâbanj and Don Jazzy in 2012, Dr Sid signed on to Don Jazzyâs Mavin Records.
He released his sophomore album âSiductionâ in December 2013 under Mavin Records.
In 2014, Dr Sid made his acting debut in Moses Inwangâs âThe Last 3 Digitsâ. He starred an NYSC corp member and a friend to Nonso Diobi in the film.
