Nigerian music sensation Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has broken his silence regarding the recent assault allegations levelled against him by social media activist Verydarkman.
Verydarkman had taken to social media to accuse Portable of physically assaulting a man in a toilet at the Felabration event in Lagos. He shared a video purportedly showing the incident and called for Portable’s immediate arrest. The activist urged the alleged victim to reach out to him for support.
Portable vehemently denied the allegations in a video posted on his Instagram page. He challenged Verydarkman to make inquiries about him in Abuja, implying that the activist would discover a different side of him.
Portable implored Verydarkman to distinguish between online bravado and real-life consequences. He emphasized that online “madness” is distinct from real-life “madness.”
The crooner also seized the opportunity to address his fans and supporters, urging them to reject online bullying and scamming, which he commonly refers to as “ripping.”
Sharing the video, he wrote:
“Who dey cripple-ye Awa Ọmọ who dey who dey we go cripple you who dey come dey fear only God we fear say no to ripping say no to online bullying.”
