- After being tackled by a netizen over this, she gave an explanation.
Nigerian singer, Guchi recently got tackled by an X user for shifting the release date of her song, ‘Composure’ because of Wizkid’s ‘Morayo’ album, set to drop on Friday, 22nd November.
Taking to social media, Guchi made the announcement, noting that the sound would be dropping on 26th November instead.
She wrote:
“New Release Date 26th NOV.
COMPOSURE with @Odumodublvck& @masterkraft out
Pre-save africori.to/composure
@iamwillysart.”
Reacting, an X user insinuated that she was postponing the date due to Wizkid’s ‘Morayo’ album of which she admitted to.
The user wrote: “Suspect is moving her release date because of Wizkid’s album release.”
“No loud am now,” she said.
Another user who wasn’t pleased with this asked why she would shift her song release date because of a fellow artiste. He further asked her if Wizkid was the one feeding her.
The netizen asked:
“Why would another artist make you shift your release date? Na him dey feed you?”
Responding, Guchi attempted to provide an explanation regarding her decision. She stated that when Morayo drops, she would definitely stream it and doesn’t want a situation whereby attention would be divided on the day of her new music release.
According to her, every artist will love maximum attention on the day he or she drops her song.
“Bro it’s common sense! Even I will be streaming Morayo tomorrow! Next week Tuesday una go dance to COMPOSURE!!!
Every artist wants the maximum attention they can get on their release date. So say what you want, I made a smart decision!”
