One of the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) officials who played a key role in the controversial demolition of the OPM free school has reportedly died under mysterious circumstances.
Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, the Senior Pastor of Omega Power Ministry (OPM), did not hold back in his reaction.
Recall that in January 2025, WITHIN NIGERIA reported how the cleric decried the brutal and unexpected demolition of the church’s free school along the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway. He also lamented the meager compensation given by the Lagos State government.
Now, in a chilling twist, Apostle Chibuzor has taken to his official Facebook page to reveal that one of the most aggressive officials involved, who was not only rude to him but also came close to crushing him under the school’s collapsing blocks, passed away in his sleep and never woke up.
While expressing sympathy for the deceased, the clergyman did not shy away from delivering a sobering warning, invoking scripture to highlight the peril of standing against God’s anointed.
Yet, in an extraordinary act of grace, Apostle Chibuzor vowed to sponsor the late official’s children’s education.
OPM Pastor wrote:
“Breaking news from lagos state…. The day the lagos state government came to demolish OPM free school in lagos.
“While I was addressing the tv press, the 3nd in command among government people that came got angry and took slig hammer and started hitting on the wall while am still there talking so that the wall will fall on me before my security and OPM members intervened.
“I just received a call from lagos that he slept yesterday without any sickness and couldn’t wake up this morning.
“I already instructed opm branch in lagos not to celebrate, because 2 Peter 3:9. Says, The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance
“HRM KING APOSTLE CHIBUZOR and OPM church never prayed against him or those that demolish the free school.
“I will give his children opm free Schlarship. My prayer for him is MAY GOD FORGIVE HIM AND ACCEPT HIS SOUL IN HEAVEN”
