Marlian Records introduced me to drugs, wasn’t paid any royalties – ex-signee Fabian Blu

  • Fabian Blu has called out Naira Marley for owing his royalties for the songs he released under his label, Marlian Records.
  • The singer said he has been owed for five years as he hasn’t been paid a dime since 2020.
  • Fabian added that he was introduced to drugs and a dangerous lifestyle, making him feel like he was imprisoned.

Singer Fabian ‘Inim’ Blu has stated that Naira Marley’s record label, Marlian Records, introduced him to hard drugs and other dangerous lifestyles.

Fabian Blu, who was an ex-signee of the record label, made this known while discussing for the first time, his experience during an interview.

After his contract with Naira Marley’s label expired in 2022, Fabian Blu disappeared from the public space.

Speaking in his latest interview with popular media personality Chude Jideonwo, the singer accused Naira Marley of discrimination, as well as physical and verbal abuse.

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that Fabian was signed to Marlian Records in 2020 and left in 2022 after his contract expired.

He released four singles under the label before his contract expired.

However, reflecting on his two-year experience at Marlian Records, Fabian accused the label of owing him royalties. He says he has not been paid a penny and when he threatened to sue them to court, Naira Marley laughed in his face.

The singer who left the same period as late Mohbad who passed away under mysterious circumstances shared the suffering and punishments he endured during his time under the label.

Fabian claimed he was tagged a lazy artiste and then sidelined because he wasn’t Yoruba or Muslim. He claimed he had to sound a certain way instead of his usual self and was maltreated in the accommodation provided. He added that when he asked for help for his mother, he was ignored and then introduced to drugs before his escape. In his words:

“I got introduced to drugs in Marlian Music. They were too gangster for me. I left the label the same year and month as Mohbad, and they spread rumors that I was mad.”
