Nigerian actress cum filmmaker Mary Remmy Njoku, has questioned the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, and other Nollywood associations about the benefits of being a member of the union.

The ROK TV CEO also asked the associations to back their answers with evidence.

Mary Njoku in the post made on her Instagram story explained that she finds it difficult to give a clear response when asked the questions by up and coming filmmakers.

Questioning Nollywood guilds, associations, and their members, the actress wrote:

“A budding filmmaker asked me ‘what are the benefits of being part of Nollywood guilds and associations?’ and I am struggling to give a clear answer.

“Can someone help outline the benefits with supporting evidence?”

The National Film and Video Censors Board, NFVCB, earlier said there are 22 approved Nollywood guilds and associations, including AGN, and Theatre Arts and Motion Picture Practioners Association of Nigeria, TAMPAN.

In other news, Nigerian skit maker Apaokagi Adedoyin Maryam better known as Taaooma, has shared her struggle with her fans a few months after welcoming her first baby.

Taaooma and her husband Abdulazeez Greene Oladimeji aka Abula welcomed their first child on November 7, but announced the amazing news on December 5, 2024.
