Award-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy has announced the demise of his self-acclaimed title, ‘African Giant’, backed with a deeply emotional revelation.

In a cryptic yet heartfelt message posted to his backup Instagram story, the music star declared that the “African Giant” is no more, claiming that his former self was “killed” by his people.

The Grammy winner explained that a new version of him, “Big 7”, was created as a form of self-protection to shield what remains of his broken heart.

“The ‘African Giant’ BURNA BOY died. His own people killed him. Then ‘BIG 7’ was born to protect what was left of ‘BURNA BOY’.

“BURNA BOY and BIG 7 fight each other a lot because while BIG 7 is only protecting the final and only existing piece of BURNA BOY’S BROKEN HEART, The ‘African Giant’ still haunts BURNA BOY,” he wrote.
