Controversial activist and social media personality, Verydarkman, has opened up about a private meeting he had with Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo less than two weeks ago, following her viral statement detailing the threats and emotional trauma she’s faced since advocating for justice in the late Mohbad’s case.

In a new video shared via his Instagram page, Verydarkman reacted to Iyabo Ojo’s emotionally charged statement, where she disclosed how her activism for Mohbad led to severe threats against her life, attacks on her business, and even a disturbing incident where her name was seen written inside a coffin.

She also mentioned that her NGO wrote letters to authorities requesting an investigation and a coroner inquest into the singer’s death.

Iyabo had emphasized that she never accused anyone directly of killing Mohbad, stated her reaction stemmed from the disturbing videos that circulated at the time of his passing.

However, Verydarkman — known for his opposition to Iyabo’s early handling of the Mohbad case — expressed shock after reading her recent post. He revealed that just 12 to 13 days ago, he had a closed-door meeting with Iyabo Ojo to settle their lingering differences regarding the case.

According to him, both parties were accompanied by their entourages during the meeting, and the purpose was to iron out disagreements that had played out in the public space. Verydarkman said he sat with Iyabo face-to-face and pointed out where he felt she misstepped in her campaign for justice.

He claimed to have cautioned her about the possibility that she may have unknowingly been used as a pawn by those who might actually be involved in Mohbad’s death — exploiting her emotional responses to sway public attention.

VDM added that they both agreed not to share full details of their meeting, making her latest revelations all the more surprising to him. He questioned the consistency between what was discussed privately and what Iyabo publicly stated, especially the insinuation of death threats and accusations about being targeted due to political views.

The activist reiterated that while he empathizes with her ordeal, he still stands by his view that objectivity and restraint were lacking in her early advocacy for Mohbad.

The video has sparked renewed conversations online, once again highlighting the deep divisions and personal tolls arising from the highly sensitive case of Mohbad’s tragic death.
