Abbie Chatfield has come out in defense of period sex.

The podcaster, 26, made the comments on her Hit Network radio show, in reference to Married At First Sight‘s Domenica Calarco, after her ‘groom’ refused to do the deed while she was menstruating.

‘Sometimes you’re hornier on your period. But I feel like this is a larger conversation about whether period sex is quote unquote, ‘gross” she said.

When quizzed about the argument during an interview on Thursday, Domenica Calarco, 28, confirmed that Jack, 26, had a change of heart.

Speaking to HIT Hobart’s Jimmy & Nath on Thursday, the makeup artist confirmed that she and Jack did engage in coitus during her menstruation, insisting that Jack simply needed to learn more about ‘how it works’.

‘It did end up happening. I think Jack just needed a bit of an insight into how that happens,’ she explained.

‘He is a little bit younger than me. We all know that men mature later than women. It’s just a testament to how much of a taboo subject it actually is, and how much women aren’t open to talking about menstruating and being intimate with their partner,’ Domenica added.

‘Yeah, it is early on. But you know, I’m horny and we’d just come out of lockdown and I’m not going to shy away from that. I’m going to embrace my sexuality,’ she declared.
