Andy Cohen strikes back at Kelly Dodd after she claimed RHOC ratings had slumped after her departure

Andy Cohen struck back at Kelly Dodd after she claimed RHOC ratings had slumped significantly after her departure.

Dodd, 46, who was fired from the franchise earlier this year, tweeted the show had reaped less than a million viewers these last few weeks even though she was no longer on the series and had been deemed the ‘ratings problem.’

But Andy, 53, politely fired back with a reminder that ratings weren’t measured by live viewers alone.

It all started after Kelly re-tweeted stats showing the most recent episode of the show garnered just 822,000 viewers on Monday.

Kelly said her season of the show garnered over a million views the majority of the season even in the face of election coverage competition.

‘Wait, wasn’t I the ratings problem ?’ Kelly asked her Twitter followers. ‘Wasn’t there a boycott ?? We got over a million viewers 14 out of 16 weeks last season despite HUGE competition from election coverage on the news !!! This year ? #RHOC16 under a million 3x in 4 weeks ! Hey @Andy How’s that reboot going ???’

The tweet Kelly included in her message was from the account TV Deets, which also pointed out the latest episode of RHOC still ranked sixth in the evening even though it was the lowest-rated show of the season thus far.

‘Good morning! Reboot going great. Feels like a return to form for #RHOC. Look at the delayed numbers, not live. That’s what’s measured,’ he tweeted.

Kelly fired back at Andy once again after his response started making headlines and insisted her season would still outperform the current cycle with delayed numbers included.

‘No one needs to explain ratings to me. I know how they work.I compared RHOC15’s overnights to RHOC16’s. We got more viewers every week so far. If Andy wants to add delayed views to boost his numbers he needs to add those to Season 15 too. Bet we still win,’ she tweeted.

In a statement, Kelly did not back down from her tweet as she called Andy’s message ‘pure spin.’

‘Numbers don’t lie,’ she in a statement to Page Six. ‘We did a straight-up comparison using real overnight data. His response is pure spin. If he’s gonna add later views to this year’s overnight ratings, he needs to share the added views to last year, too.’

She also took the opportunity to strike out against Heather Dubrow, who returned to season 16 of RHOC after a five year absence.

‘If the reboot was truly a success, the next-day ratings would reflect it. Season 16’s numbers would be higher than Season 15’s. Instead they’re significantly lower and show many viewers have turned off the show. Based on the Instagram comments I’ve seen, it seems like a lot of Bravo fans can’t stand Heather [Dubrow] and won’t watch anymore.’
