Drake was present when the Miami Heat defeated the Atlanta Bucks at the FTX Arena in Miami on Friday evening.

The 35-year-old was accompanied by his pal, music manager Simon Gebrelul, during the matchup, and he was later seen celebrating the home team’s victory with players such as Jimmy Butler and Kyle Lowry.

The performer’s outing comes not long after he requested that his nominations for the upcoming Grammy Awards be withdrawn completely.

Drake sported a short-sleeve zebra-print button-up shirt while spending time at the sporting event.

The Forever rapper contrasted the lighter shades of his top with a pair of jet-black slim-fitting pants.

The Grammy-winning hitmaker also donned a stylish set of stark white sneakers as he enjoyed the game.

He added numerous elements of shine to his outfit with several sparkling articles of jewelry.

Drake’s most recent musical output came on rapper Gunna’s track P Power, on which he performed a feature verse.

The track was initially set to be released on the performer’s album DS4EVER, which made its debut last Friday.

The song was later announced to have been removed from the record, which surprised many of the rapper’s fans.

P Power was eventually included on an alternate version of the album, entitled Drip Season Forever.

Drake’s most recent solo song, Give It Up, made its debut on OVO Sound Radio this past November.

The artist recently withdrew his nominations as a performer for the upcoming Grammy Awards.

The hitmaker was previously put up for the Best Rap Album award for his work on his newest album, Certified Lover Boy.

He was also nominated for the Best Rap Performance for his track Way 2 Sexy, which featured Young Thug and Future.

Last month, Variety reported that, despite submitting his work for awards, Drake withdrew his requests.

The artist’s reasons for his actions have not been made known to the public since then.

The hitmaker’s representatives also did not immediately provide any comments when asked by the media outlet. 

Drake previously defended The Weeknd when his friend was snubbed by the Recording Academy in 2020.

The performer shared a lengthy message to his Instagram account where he expressed via Variety that performers should not take the Grammys very seriously in terms of artistic validity. 

‘I think we should stop allowing ourselves to be shocked every year by the disconnect between impactful music and these awards,’ he wrote.

The performer also encouraged his fans to ‘just accept that what once was the highest form of recognition may no longer matter to the artists that exist now and the ones that come after.’

He added: ‘It’s like a relative you keep expecting to fix up but they just can’t change their ways.’

Drake concluded his message by writing that a new form of awards show should be started with the intention of inspiring future artists and fans. 

‘This is a great time for somebody to start something new that we can build up over time and pass on to the generations to come,’ he wrote.
