EKEDP chairman Momoh steps down, Otubu appointed

Eko Distribution Plc (EKEDP), on Thursday, announced the appointment of Oritsedere Otubu, a pioneer board member, as new chairman.

Otubu replaces Charles Momoh, the pioneer chairman who is stepping down after 8 years.

A statement by General Manager, Corporate Communications, Godwin Idemudia, says the company believes Otubu will lead EKEDP into a new phase of developmental journey.

Idemudia said Otubu, an entrepreneur with a diversified portfolio of investments, “has a track record of successfully developing and building businesses for over 30 years”.

The appointee is Chairman, Elektron Petroleum Energy and Mining Limited, owners of Alausa Power Limited; Chairman, Garden Group.

Otubu was formerly Director of Access Bank Plc; ex-member, State Economic Advisory Team; ex-member, Western Delta University Board of Trustees.

The Finance and Economics expert holds a master’s degree in Accounting from Houston Baptist University Texas, United States. He is a sportsman and enthusiast.

“This is quite an important point for the power sector in its journey to maturity as the needs of our customers, regulators, and other stakeholders are changing rapidly”, the statement quoted him saying.

Otubu assured that the EKEDP would continue to chart the course for growth and contribute to both the power sector and Nigeria’s development.
