Emma Husar shares confronting scan of injury following voluntary exit from SAS Australia

Former Labor MP Emma Husar called it quits on Wednesday night’s episode of SAS Australia after realising she couldn’t go any further due to an ongoing injury.

Shortly after her voluntary exit, the 41-year- shared a graphic X-ray of her calf taken one month before shooting the series – which she revealed she further injured while competing on the show.

‘Recruit one out. This was my calf. March 17, one month before we filmed. I had to make some tough calls the following morning and withdraw from the show,’ she captioned the post on Instagram.

Emma went on the detail how she second-guessed her decision.

‘By the afternoon I reconsidered my position. Call it stubbornness, determination, whatever you like,’ she added.

‘They all knew it was going to be impossible. And the reality is, it was. But I was dammed if I wasn’t going to give it a good crack!’ she added.

Emma was the fourth contestant to voluntary leave the course following Brynne Edelsten, Erin Holland and Manu Feildel’s departures.

During Wednesday night’s episode, Emma was barely able to keep up with the rest of the recruits as they jogged towards an assault course.

The group was then pulled up by chief drill instructor Ant Middleton who said: ‘From that little run, it’s f**king obvious that a few of you shouldn’t be here.’

After asking the team if ‘anyone wanted to do the right thing,’ Emma announced that she would hand her number in.

She burst into tears after making her decision to quit, saying she ‘didn’t want to leave’ but felt she had no other choice.

‘If it was just up to me I would have crawled through it. But there are 15 others to think about,’ the former politician added.

SAS Australia continues Monday at 7:30pm on Channel Seven.
