How much is Thor's hammer really worth?

The staggering price of Hollywood memorabilia, including Thor’s hammer, is set to be exposed at an upcoming Prop Store auction.

During a segment on Weekend Today on Saturday, Prop Store CEO Brandon Alinger discussed the sale of the iconic items beloved by film buffs.

The original Thor hammer is going under the hammer, with the rubber mallet expected to sell for between USD$100,000 to $150,000.

‘There’s a lot of interest in it, it’s actually a rubber stunt version,’ Brandon said. ‘It’s for when the actors are swinging it round so they don’t hurt anyone.’

Brandon went on to showcase an X-wing fighter model from the first Star Wars film in 1977, which is gaining lots of interest.

Forbes.com lists the model as having a possible sale price of between $500,000 to $1 million

Prior to CGI, movie-makers used to build models for film with the fighter jet a ‘relic’ of film history.

Star Wars is obviously a cinematic classic with a huge fan base.

Harrison Ford’s cowboy hat from American Graffiti is also up for auction, from 1973.
