Katie Price has reportedly been snubbed from appearing in the upcoming I’m A Celebrity All-Stars edition.
The former glamour model, 43, is said to have been deemed ‘not suitable for the family show’ amid her recent brushes with the law, with a source telling The Sun: ‘She is too much of a liability.’
It comes after Katie – who has appeared on the show in both 2004 and 2009 – previously expressed her interest in taking part as she ‘Yes, get me in!’ on her Instagram stories after learning of the new show.
Unfortunate: Katie Price has reportedly been snubbed from appearing in the upcoming I’m A Celebrity All-Stars edition
The publication reports that while there’s little doubt that Katie would make ‘great TV’, her recent court cases and convictions mean bosses are reluctant to endorse her as the show has a younger audience.
A source said: ‘There is no doubt that Katie makes great TV and was one of the standouts on I’m A Celeb over the years, but she is too much of a liability for the show to cast her in the All-Stars version.
‘Given her pending court case, as well as her existing convictions, the series can’t be seen to endorse her by inviting her back into the jungle.’
The insider noted that I’m A Celebrity has a ‘board audience’ with lots of ‘younger viewers’ tuning in, and at this point in time, Katie is not a ‘suitable contestant’ for the family show.
Rejected: The former glamour model, 43, is said to have been deemed ‘not suitable for the family show’ amid her recent brushes with the law, with a source telling The Sun : ‘She is too much of a liability’ (pictured during her 2009 appearance)
They added: ‘Of course this may change in the future when there has been some distance from all the legal dramas, but as it stands currently, ITV don’t think it would be appropriate – even though they know she would deliver ratings gold.’
An ITV spokesperson also told the publication: ‘At this point, all casting suggestions are purely speculation.’
MailOnline have contacted representatives of Katie for comment.
Katie had made no secret of her desire to head back to the jungle for a third stint.
Keen: It comes after Katie – who has appeared on the show in both 2004 and 2009 – previously expressed her interest in taking part as she ‘Yes, get me in!’ on her Instagram stories
The former model took to her Instagram Stories on last month to declare: ‘Yes, get me in!’, after learning of the new show.
Reality star Katie appeared on the main I’m A Celeb series in 2004 and again in 2009, and she’d love to be one of the show legends invited to take part in the brand new extra programme, with a source saying Katie is ‘desperate to go back’.
The insider told The Sun at the time: ‘As soon as she knew it was happening Katie was straight on the phone to ITV.
Risky: The publication reports that while there’s little doubt that Katie would make ‘great TV’, her recent court cases and convictions mean bosses are reluctant to endorse her as the show has a younger audience
Not keen: ‘Given her pending court case, as well as her existing convictions, the series can’t be seen to endorse her by inviting her back into the jungle (pictured during original appearance in 2004)
‘She loved being on the show and now it’s pre-recorded she won’t get voted to do all the trials like her second stint on the show.
‘She thinks of her first appearance in the jungle as one of the happiest times of her life – she met Pete, the public loved her and everyone could see “the real her”.
‘She’s desperate to go back on the show. The only question is if she can do the tasks with her broken feet.’
Katie previously revealed she would need ongoing surgery on her feet after smashing her ankles during a trip to the Land of Legends theme park in Turkey when she fell off a wall during a 2020 holiday.
Star power: Katie is said to have put in a call to ITV bosses to let them know she’d like to appear again after taking part in the 2004 and 2009 series
