Mary J. Blige postpones Long Island meet-and-greet hours before start time

Mary J. Blige postponed her meet-and-greet at a Long Island record store Thursday night — just two hours before it was scheduled to start.

The Super Bowl LVI halftime performer made the eleventh-hour announcement on her Instagram Story while fans were already waiting in line outside Looney Tunes in West Babylon, NY, in foggy and humid 50-degree weather with a heavy rainstorm approaching.

“Hey, everyone. Sorry I had to postpone the in-store at Looney Tunes,” Blige, 51, said in a video message recorded in a car.

“I love y’all. Thank you so much for your love and support, and I’ll see you soon,” she added.

The “Family Affair” singer did not provide a reason for the last-minute change, but a source familiar with the situation exclusively tells Page Six that she got stuck in traffic in Times Square while en route to the sold-out photo op.

However, many attendees felt there was no excuse for Blige being a no-show.

“I flew in from St. Louis for this 😔,” one fan commented on Looney Tunes’ Facebook post relaying the news of the postponement.

“I am just curious what’s more important then [sic] setting time aside for fans,” another wrote.

Other fans noted that they had to purchase a copy of Blige’s new album, “Good Morning Gorgeous,” in order to receive a wristband for the event, only for the Grammy winner to never show up.

“Whatever she got 800 people to buy her cd,” one frustrated patron commented.

Looney Tunes wrote on Facebook that refunds were made available for those who did not want to hold onto their wristbands for the rescheduled date, which has yet to be determined.

However, attendee Michelle Ivone claims to Page Six that when she approached an employee at the family-owned record store, they did not offer to return her money.

“I went up to one of the men and said to him, ‘So this is how she sells CDs,’” Ivone says. “I told them I only bought the CD because that was the only way to do the meet-and-greet, but I didn’t even have a CD player. They didn’t offer a refund until after I heard [about it on Facebook] hours later.

“Now I have a bracelet that who knows if it will ever be good, and if she goes on tour, it’s worth nothing.”

Blige was due to appear at Looney Tunes on the heels of her performance at Sunday’s Super Bowl with headliners Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and Kendrick Lamar as well as surprise guests 50 Cent and Anderson .Paak.

“We were so excited to see Mary just days after she performed on the biggest night in TV, but now we’re just disappointed and frustrated,” another wristband-holder, who asked to remain anonymous, tells Page Six. “It’s really irresponsible of her.”

Ivone echoes, “We were shown no respect.”

Blige’s rep and Looney Tunes did not respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
