Paddy McGuinness, Freddie Flintoff and Chris Harris got into the festive spirit as they donned Father Christmas outfits for Top Gear: Driving Home For Christmas.

The trio have filmed a special Christmas episode of the hit BBC series that will see them play ‘car Secret Santa’ as they go on a yuletide road trip across Britain.

It’s not all plain sailing for the stars however, as they learn they must transport a one tonne Christmas tree to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Bath.

Paddy reads a card saying: ‘Hang on, didn’t see this on the bottom. “Now that you’ve got to grips with your warm up trees, time for the real thing which you will deliver to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Bath. Please treat this tree with care.”‘

Freddie replies: ‘What tree?’ to which Chris says: ‘Look behind you.’

After seeing the tree, Freddie says: ‘No chance. Dear God. What do you do with that?’

Chris asks: ‘What are they thinking of?’

In a voice-over, Paddy says: ‘Well, clearly they were thinking we’d have no chance of lugging a one tonne tree to Bath. Christmas is a time for miracles so we hatched a plan.

‘First, we reinforced the roofs of our cars to support the extra weight. Then, with the help of a big crane, we laid a tree across the top. We were all set to give it a whirl.’

Chris is seen saying: ‘I’ve always wanted to be in The A-Team! This feels very A-Team to me.’

The trio are seen strapping the tree to the top of their cars with Chris’ car in the lead.

Speaking over a walkie talkie, he says: ‘I do not like being stuck in the middle of this. I’m not in the best position here!’

Paddy is then heard saying: ‘Give it some juice, a bit of juice boys!’
