Wendy Williams 'hasn't been talking to anybody' at show as she continues hiatus for health issues

Wendy Williams has allegedly cut off all direct contact with staffers on her talk-show as her months-long hiatus continues.

The 57-year-old has been off the show because of health issues that are reportedly connected to her longtime struggle with the autoimmune disorder Graves’ disease.

‘She hasn’t been talking to anybody, not producers, not senior producers- no one,’ an insider claimed to The Sun. ‘She has disappeared and the only line of contact production has is through her manager.’

The source added: ‘Her manager is an ex-cop, so they like him because he can be a police man for her,’ but alleged: ‘He really has no control over her anyway.’

According to the insider: ‘She’s isolated herself from everyone and isn’t talking to anybody connected to the show.’

She has not appeared on the entire 13th season of The Wendy Williams Show, which began in October following delays after she got COVID-19.

Wendy also took a hiatus in May 2020 citing her Graves’ disease but returned to the program that September.

In October 2020 DJ Boof, who had worked on the show until not long before, posted an ominous comment about her on Instagram.

‘Y’all have no idea what’s really going on and everyone there is afraid to speak up because they don’t wanna lose their jobs.. this is going to play out bad.. I feel sorry for the workers and victims,’ he wrote in the since-deleted remark.

Wendy continued starring on the show through the season 12 finale this past summer – the last episode she taped of the program.

An insider has now told The Sun what multiple people who work on the show are claimed to be feeling: ‘I don’t think she’s ever going to come back to the studio.’

Since October 2021 the talk show has had a series of guest hosts including Sherri Shepherd, Michael Rapaport, Leah Remini and Michelle Visage.

It was announced early last month that Wendy would not return at the start of the new year, and another string of guest hosts was announced for January.

‘Even if she did come back, she’d be a lame duck because her show isn’t renewed beyond this season,’ a Page Six insider said.

That month a source told The Sun she was ‘crazy jealous’ watching guest hosts ‘and having to sit on the sidelines is eating her up but there’s no way around it. The show must continue and when Sherri’s on, the numbers go up.’

Wendy, who also suffers from lymphedema and has been candid about her past addiction issues, was filmed leaving a wellness center in Miami last month.

She walked arm in arm with a man who took her to a car, and she assured an interviewer: ‘Wendy is doing fabulous!’ in a clip posted by The Shade Room.

The previous month she had released a statement telling her public: ‘As everyone knows, my health has been a hot topic. I’m making progress but it’s just one of those things that’s taking longer than we expected.’

Wendy noted: ‘I’m a woman of a certain age, and I know enough to listen to my doctors and will return to my purple chair as soon as we all agree I’m ready.’

A source recently claimed to The Sun that she ‘no longer has any allies, she is totally unable to keep friends because they say she “uses” people. She’s incredibly rude to people who try to get close to her, or try to help her.’

Her son Kevin Jr. is alleged to have given her an ‘ultimatum’ that he ‘he won’t be in her life unless she fixes herself,’ according to an insider in the same publication.

Wendy shares her son with her husband and former manager Kevin Hunter, whom she left after his longtime mistress Sharina Hudson had his baby.

Michael Rapaport, Sherri Shepherd and the duo of Finesse Mitchell and Kym Whitley are the announced guest-hosts for January.

The show suffered a setback recently as Michael had to pull out of guest-hosting duties after contracting COVID-19.

Sherri had to miss one guest-hosting date last month after having emergency surgery for appendicitis, but she was back on air the following day.

Wendy previously took a health hiatus early in 2018, and then another break in January and February of 2019.

After her return at the beginning of March 2019, she emotionally announced on-air that she had been staying in a ‘sober house.’

The following month, in April 2019, she filed for divorce from Kevin Sr. and in January 2020 she announced the split had been finalized.

After her marriage was over she claimed Kevin Sr. had wrongly confined her to rehab and that she had not really needed to dry out.

In an interview with DJ Boof’s successor DJ Suss One last year, she said she was ‘locked away in a rehabilitation for something I didn’t have to be rehabbed by.’

Wendy, who was addicted to cocaine when she was a radio shock jock but quit the drug before her days on TV, claimed Kevin Sr. ‘acted like I was losing my mind, going crazy, reverting back to whatever or, you know, on the edge.’

She asserted that in reality the rehab had just been ‘a quiet place to put me’ while Sharina ‘got bigger and bigger and bigger’ as her pregnancy drew to a close.

Shortly after she left her husband in 2019 she tearfully told Entertainment Tonight: ‘I would ask you to respect our privacy but please, I don’t respect people’s privacy. That’s why I do the Hot Topics. So turnabout is a fair game.’
