Ikeja Lions club gets new leaders

Ikeja Metro Lions Club International, District 404B2 Nigeria, has the next from 2022 to 2023

A statement said the unveiling was done at the official handover and fundraising ceremony in Lagos.

At the event, there was a change of leadership between the outgoing president, Mustapha Sikiru, and the incoming President, Godson Anigbo, and his team.

The Governor of the clubs in District 404B2 Nigeria, Olalekan Owolabi, advised the new leaders to surpass the works and achievements of the past executives in service to humanity while focusing on Lions Club core service areas.

He advised them to focus on the club’s core values including the fight against childhood cancer, vision feeding the hungry, diabetes awareness and prevention, and caring for our environment.

“We expect that whatever funds the club is able to gather here today, the president and his club will use it to execute potent and efficient service delivery,” Owolabi said.

Speaking with Newsmen, the president of the club, Anigbo, said his administration would be tackling some of the challenges faced by the previous administration where he served as the first vice president.

The Chairperson of the Public Presentation and Fundraising Luncheon Planning Committee, Lion John Oriazowan, said the club remained the largest service organisation worldwide with almost 1.5 million members scattered all over the world in the name of selfless service to humanity.

According to the Co-Chairperson of the Club Fundraising Luncheon and Public Presentation¸ Blessing Umebali, who also doubles as the club legacy project committee chairperson said, the motto of Lions Clubs is ‘We Serve’ and every month, Lions Clubs scattered all over the World is expected to carry out monthly service activity to better the community and making it a better place.
