Jade Osiberu’s Star-studded Crime Drama, ‘The Trade’ Gets Cinema Release Date

Jade Osiberu’s star-studded crime drama, ‘The Trade’ has gotten an official release date in cinemas across the country.

Following the success of her latest film, ‘Brotherhood,’ the 37-year-old Nigerian filmmaker is starting the year busy with ‘The Trade,’ a crime drama said to be inspired by true events.

Directed by Foresight Global Films and written by the award-winning screenwriter Yinka Ogun, ‘The Trade’ tells the story of Dike Maduka, aka Eric, a notorious genius billionaire kidnapper who terrorized southern Nigeria for many years and how Superintendant Khalid Abubakar, a rapidly rising police officer and the head of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT), oversees a crucial investigation into the notorious kidnapper’s actions after 20 years of escaping capture.

The beautiful cast of the film includes Chiwetalu Agu, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Rita Dominic, Kelechi Udegbe, Gideon Okeke, Gregory Ojefua, Charles Inojie, Ali Nuhu, Denola Grey, Stan Nze, Waje, and Shawn Faqua.

The film is set to premiere in cinemas on January 13, 2023.
