Sensational musician, Rema has addressed rumors of a dispute with fellow artist, Davido, clarifying that he has always respected his senior colleagues and does not seek to cause trouble.
In 2020, Rema was seen venting online after reports surfaced that Davido had slapped him at the BBNaija 2020 finale, which was won by reality TV star Laycon. According to some reports, Rema’s bouncers had ignored Laycon and other housemates who wanted to take selfies with him, leading to an argument with Davido and the alleged incident.
However, Rema has now denied any bad blood between himself and Davido. In an interview, he stated that he has always had respect for other artists, including those who came before him.
He emphasized that his goal is to focus on making good music, rather than causing trouble or engaging in feuds. Rema also praised the unity among Afrobeats artists, noting that despite individual egos and achievements, they have managed to work together successfully for a long time.
In addition to his comments on the Davido dispute, Rema also spoke about the broader landscape of Afrobeats music. He noted that the genre has become increasingly popular in recent years, with artists from Nigeria and other African countries achieving global success.
Despite the competition within the industry, Rema emphasized that Afrobeats artists have managed to maintain a sense of unity and collaboration, which has helped to propel the genre forward.
