Big Brother Naija reality TV star cum show host, Maria Chike Banjamin has revealed why she chose to date the husband of Cubana Chief Priest’s sister.

Stating her reason, Maria Chike claimed that she didn’t know her lover, Kelvin Anene was married when they started dating.

She stated this in a recent interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo, while speaking on the controversy surrounding her relationship with her partner.

Recall that back in 2021, the reality TV star was accused of snatching Kelvin from his wife by Nigerian socialite, Cubana Chiefpriest, who said the victim is his sister.

Maria, however, did not confirm or refute the rumour until July 2022, when she went on a Twitter rage to address the rumour ‘once and for all’.

She stated that she did not ruin anybody’s home or snatch anybody’s husband, adding that she choose to remain silent about the rumour for the best interest of those involved.

In a recent interview shared hours ago, Maria, again, maintained that she did not ruin Kelvin’s marriage, and that she chose to remain silent about the rumour for the sake of those concerned.

She further revealed that she had no idea that he was married when they first met and started dating. Her words,

“I wasn’t aware whether or not he was married when we first started dating. What I am going to stand by and that’s the gospel truth is that I didn’t destroy any marriage. I have never and I will never.”
