The Standard Organization of Nigeria has promises that it will ensure production of quality products in the country.
The quality control organisation made the pledge in Ilorin, Kwara State, while presenting MANCAP certificate for ‘5ml Deleject Disposable Syringes and Needles’, one of the products of HMA Medical Limited.
The organisation also reiterated its commitment to eradicating substandard products in the system.
Speaking at event held at the HMA Medical Limited plant in Ilorin, SON coordinator, Mr Ayeni Oyebolaji, applauded the company for its continued dedication and innovation towards the production of superior-quality medical devices.
Presenting the certificate to the Group Executive Director of the company, Mr Damilola Shittu, the SON coordinator said, “We are here to appreciate, applaud and rejoice with the company. You should continue to demonstrate consistency in the quality of your products.”
Oyebolaji also announced that the Deleject 2ml syringe would be certified by SON as soon as the necessary parameters are in place.
Also speaking, HMA’s Group Executive Director, Mr Damilola Shittu, thanked SON for its support and encouragement over the years.
Shittu, who described the regulatory organisation as a mentor and partner to HMA, said that the company has sustained quality products that satisfy consumer interests and needs.
However, he expressed concern over the inflow of imported substandard products, particularly syringes and needles, that were creating undue competition for indigenous manufacturers and putting Nigerians at risk. He appealed to SON to curb the menace.
