Since Mohbad’s death was announced, there has been an flood of sorrow and concern from the general public, who has called for an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
Mohbad’s close friend, Bella Shmurda has announced the cancellation of his scheduled Canadian tour due to what he refers to as unfortunate events.
Bella Shmurda stated in a post on his X (Twitter) account on September 16, 2023 that he will be revealing new dates in time to come.
“Due to the recent sad event and unforeseen circumstances, I have had to cancel my Tour of Canada, New dates will be communicated” he wrote.
The postponement comes after Bella Shumurda lost a dear friend, Mohbad, with whom he had previously collaborated and publicly defended throughout his highly publicized label battle with Marlian Records.
Bella Shmurda had earlier revealed how Mohbad attempted suicide because of Naira Marley’s record label
Earlier last year, Mohbad had accused his former record label boss Naira Marley on social media of ordering his goons to beat him up.
Shortly after the incident, he left the record label.
In an interview with well-known media figure Chude Jideonwo, Bella Shmurda claimed Mohbad attempted suicide during his issues with his former record label but was stopped by friends.
In his words:
“There was a time, me and Mohbad were in an apartment and Mohbad was like he wanted to jump from the upstairs because of the issues he was having with his record label. We held him by the window. Mohbad had almost jumped, it was his girlfriend that entered the room and saw him sitting down at the window.”
Bella Shmurda added that Mohbad went through therapy sessions and hospital for hypertension treatment before he could recover from the issues with Marlian music
