  • Speaking on the recent incident at Imole’s candlelight, OAP Do2dtun blames the Nigerian police force for dispersing teargas at Nigerians present at the procession
  • He also blamed the individuals present for gathering at the Lekki tollgate after the march had already ended around 8 pm

Oladotun Ojuolape Kayode, alias Do2dtun, a Nigerian actor, video jockey, and on-air personality, has attributed the Lekki tollgate tear gas incident victims’ tragedy to them.

Recall how many of the late rapper Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba’s (also known as Mohbad) followers flocked to the Lekki tollgate on Thursday for a candlelight parade in his honor and how the police allegedly used tear gas to disperse them.

According to reports, some of the fans were hurt in varying degrees.

The victims were criticized by OAP Do2dtun for convening at the Lekki tollgate after the march had already ended at the designated location, Muri Okunola Park, at around 8 pm.

He wrote:

Honesty over honesty Nigerians do not listen. We do the most. This procession ended at Muri Okunola park over 3 hours ago. We ended and all left. Some still went to converge at the Lekki toll gate. It is not a protest. It is a candlelight procession.”

He did, however, criticize the police for unleashing tear gas on the grieving.

“It’s not a right for the police to do that but people hijack these things & turn it to something else. Muri Okunola (Park) was approved & it was a peaceful candle procession.

“It’s just common sense. The people that went home, are they stupid? Apply this thing some times. Na Lagos we dey” he added.

In another story, OAP Police invites Do2dtun for questioning by over allegation of forced abortion

This is coming on the heels of reports that in December, Do2dtun’s wife, Omotayo filed for divorce over forced abortion, domestic violence and emotional abuse from the CoolFM’s personality.

Omotayo who is also popular singer, D’banj’s sister had accused her partner of forcing her to abort her third pregnancy as a married woman.

She wrote the deputy inspector general (DIG) at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja.

In the petition, she further made claims of unlawful entry, malicious damage, criminal trespass, and unlawful use of policemen by the OAP who subsequently denied the allegations in a strong-worded public reaction.

FCID has now invited Dotun for questioning on January 16.

In the invite, the FCID said Dotun will be made to provide responses “in respect of an ongoing investigation”.
