  • Mr. Joseph Aloba, the father of the deceased Nigerian artist Mohbad, has reiterated his stance on a recent development in his son's case.
  • Mr. Aloba took to the online realm with a new , responding to appeals from actress Dikeh and others who sought the release of Mohbad's body for .
  • With firm resolve, the grieving father emphasized that no one should dare carry his son's corpse without obtaining his explicit authorization.

Joseph Aloba, the father of the deceased Nigerian singer Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has responded to the requests for the return of his son's body for burial.

Recall that Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh, had earlier taken to media to call on the Nigerian police to release Mohbad's body for it to be properly buried. 

Following the online appeal from Tonto and others, Mohbad's father promptly voiced his opposition on social media, strongly rejecting their proposed plans.

Continuing his stance, Mr. Aloba emphasized that the collective fight for justice for Mohbad would be undermined by a reburial, as it would only cause the issue to fade away.

The elderly man underscored the importance of conducting a DNA test on Mohbad's son, Liam, before contemplating the reburial of his remains.

In his words:

“I heard some people want to go and carry Mohbad's body. When this boy was alive, he was my son and even after death, he is still my son. Nobody should go and take his body. If anything must be done, I will be the one to authorize it.

We are seeking Justice for Mohbad and you people are talking of burial. What remains after burial? Let Justice take place first and DNA is very necessary please.” 


Mohbad died under controversial circumstances on September 12, 2023, and was buried the next day.

His body was about a week later for autopsy following a public outcry for a thorough investigation into his sudden demise.

The police deposited him body in the morgue after the autopsy was conducted.
