- Mr Ibu’s wife Stella Maris Okafor, under the weight of mounting criticism, found herself in a viral video shedding tears due to accusations hurled her way.
- In the footage, she was joined by actor Uche Maduagwu, expressing empathy for the challenges she has endured in recent weeks.
Stella Maris, the wife of ailing actor John Okafor, widely known as Mr Ibu, has welled up in tears amid numerous allegations from her husband’s adopted daughter, Jasmine Okafor, and others.
Uche Maduagwu, a self-proclaimed actor, shared a video portraying Stella’s emotional breakdown at the hospital lobby, where her husband is currently receiving medical care.
In the Instagram video posted on Wednesday, Uche lent a sympathetic ear to the woman, who was doing her best to keep a stiff upper lip while tears silently spilled down her cheeks.
“It’s okay, don’t cry God will bless you for everything you are doing for Mr Ibu, it’s okay, don’t cry madam okay, God will see you through, everything they said about you. Look at where she sleeps, waiting and taking care of her husband and people are online saying all manner of things,” Uche said as the woman continued crying.

In a recent interview with Uche, Stella spilled the beans, revealing that she felt like she was taken for a ride and made to sing the tune that the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) turned a blind eye to her husband’s plight.
“I need to apologise to AGN people. My people, I am so sorry about all those things, I was manipulated to say all those things. Yes, I was manipulated because I know when Kate Henshaw came, we were all in the ICU,” Stella Maris said in parts.
Stella Maris took to social media, leveling accusations at Jasmine, alleging that she’s been blocked from the donated funds for her husband’s surgery. Adding fuel to the fire, she claimed that Jasmine and her stepson Daniel tied the knot in secret and have intentions to relocate abroad.
These allegations surfaced in response to Verydarkman’s claim that Stella accused Jasmine of diverting surgery funds for personal luxuries like a new iPhone, a car, and even butt enlargement.
