Jetour, a new brand under the Chery Holding Group, has entered the Nigerian automobile market, introducing luxury SUVs.
The automaker noted in a statement that it launched globally in 2018 focusing on providing practical travel solutions.
It added that it also focused on intelligent driving and energy-saving electric systems.
It claimed the brand catered to a discerning group unwilling to settle for mediocrity, promoting the philosophy that brilliance is gained through action.
The firm stated that the brand was introduced in response to the market trend and consumers’ demand.
According to the automaker, it is focusing on core new energy technologies, offering the latest comprehensive energy technology system; battery electric vehicle platform and the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle platform.
“With technologies such as intelligent driving, intelligent network connection, and vehicle-to-everything, its products are sold to many nations globally.
“The core technologies of new energy electric vehicles such as battery, motor, electronic control, and vehicle controller have been independently applied to the different platform models,” the statement read.
The automaker revealed its vehicles were powered by one of China’s top 10 engines.
According to Jetour, it is the first Chinese brand with a 1.6TGDI turbocharged engine and is considered the first Chinese brand with a direct injection petrol engine that meets China VI emission regulations.
“These elements contribute to an impressive performance, including 187KW power, 390N.m torque, and an exhilarating acceleration of 100 km/h in under 8 seconds.
“More than 1,000 people worked on the Kunpeng Power 2.0TGDI engine, based on Chery’s 23 years of positive engine development skill, a solid product development system, and an advanced verification system in Europe and China (Wuhu, Shanghai).
“The team’s five advantages are super energy, ultra-clean, ultra-quiet, ultra-solid, and ultra-light, developed over 48 months,” it noted.
