Nigerian singer Duncan Mighty opens up about his past involvement in the Niger Delta crisis.

According to him, God saved his life several times during his days as a militant.

Speaking in a recent interview with 3Music in Accra, Ghana, Duncan Mighty shared his remarkable journey. He revealed that he hails from Port Harcourt, and grew up in the South South region, which was a war zone before the amnesty.

Duncan Mighty revealed that before making a name for himself in the music industry, he served as the first drummer for Christ Embassy in Port Harcourt. His community involvement extended to protecting their interests, particularly related to oil.

He highlighted how fame transformed his life, and today, only few recognize him as the boy who once navigated the creeks during tumultuous times.

“I was involved in the Niger Delta crisis.

“God has saved my life severally. I am a Port Harcourt boy. I am not from Lagos. I come from the South South, from the war zone before the amnesty.

“I have been involved with a lot of community activities that had to do with protecting of our people, oil.

“But when fame came, nobody know I am that boy who was in the creeks back in the days.”

“I was the first drummer for Christ Embassy in Port Harcourt,” he said.

Duncan Mighty also revealed that he took a break from music to go to school.

According to Duncan Mighty, talent alone is not sufficient. He believes that to truly excel, one must back up their artistic abilities with education.

He emphasizes the importance of being in charge of one’s career or business, stating that Equipping oneself with knowledge and skills is essential for long-term success.

Duncan Mighty praised education as the one thing that remains with one even in old age. He encouraged everyone to pursue education, even if they missed out during their parents’ time.
