Renowned for her roles in numerous movies during the early 2000s, Doris Simeon revealed that she made the life-altering decision in 2018 primarily for the sake of her family.
The actress disclosed that her move to the United States was driven by her desire to be closer to her child, who resides there with his father.
Despite her deep affection for Nigeria, Doris Simeon confessed that she has not returned to her homeland since her relocation, expressing her longing for aspects of Nigerian life she dearly misses.
Reflecting on her attachment to Nigeria, Doris Simeon nostalgically mentioned the fond memories of indulging in roadside delicacies from food vendors, the exhilarating experience of being on movie sets, and the cherished moments spent with family and friends.
However, her maternal instincts and the yearning to be present for her child’s upbringing ultimately influenced her decision to establish roots in the United States.
Expressing the bittersweet longing for her Nigeria Doris Simeon said;
“As many people know, my child and his father reside in America, and that’s one of the reasons I decided to relocate here.”
“I left Nigeria in 2018 and I have not returned since then. I miss Nigeria a lot. The things I miss most especially are the roadside food vendors. Things like roasted yam, roasted corn, food that they hawk.
“I miss my family and friends and I also miss being on set, especially when I see actors and actresses sharing behind-the-scenes moments on their social media platforms.”
