On Tuesday night, Chinwe accused Nelly of theft after Nelly’s boyfriend, Sooj, discovered the jewelry in Nelly’s laundry bag and returned it to Chinwe.

Speaking with Kassia on Wednesday morning, August 14, Nelly denied any involvement in the theft and claimed she was unaware of how the jewelry ended up in her bag.

She revealed that while she was prepared to take strong action regarding the accusation, Sooj suggested she address the matter privately with Chinwe.

Nelly expressed her frustration, stating:

“I was expecting the same energy from her this morning that she had last night. But when she saw me, she didn’t say anything.”

She continued:

“I looked her in the eye, and nothing happened. She called me a thief to my face, and if we didn’t resolve it, I would have reacted. Why call me a thief? Is she out of her mind? She should report it to Biggie; the cameras are everywhere and will show what happened.”

The CCTV did not capture the confrontation between Nelly and Chinwe but only their conversation as it concluded.

Nelly concluded, “We’re okay, right? I’m sorry about it.”

Chinwe responded, “Yeah, it’s okay, it’s okay.”
