Renowned American singer Beyoncé Knowles-Carter has shared her honest thoughts on the complexities of fame.

In a recent interview with GQ, She revealed that, at times, fame can feel restrictive.

She explained that she works at her own pace, driven by a desire to inspire self-reflection and empowerment in her audience.

The singer also addressed her intermittent presence in the public eye, clarifying that she prefers to focus on her art rather than maintaining a constant public image.

She said:

“I create at my own pace, on things that I hope will touch other people. I hope my work encourages people to look within themselves and come to terms with their own creativity, strength, and resilience. I focus on storytelling, growth, and quality. I’m not focused on perfectionism. I focus on evolution, innovation, and shifting perception.

“Working on the music for Cowboy Carter and launching this exciting new project feels nothing like prison, nor a burden. In fact, I only work on what liberates me. It is fame that can at times feel like prison. So, when you don’t see me on red carpets, and when I disappear until I have art to share, that’s why.

Beyoncé emphasized that her passion for music and sharing meaningful messages will never fade, even if she chooses to step back from the spotlight.

“Good music and strong messages will never retire”, she added

The music star had earlier stated that she is no longer motivated by charts and sales’ .

The 42-year-old singer mentioned that her perspective on success in the music industry has evolved due to personal growth.

Reflecting on her past, Beyoncé shared with ‘The Hollywood Reporter‘ that there was a time when chart rankings and sales figures used to fuel her motivation.
